Bagh prints derive their name from the river Baghini which flows through the village and is the very backbone of this fascinating craft. Also, Bagh prints are handmade and apply natural and vegetable-based dyes using carved wood relief blocks. The printing is mostly done by the Khatri community who are believed to have brought this craft from Sindh 400 years ago.
Bagh printing is primarily done manually, involving several painstaking processes of repeated washing, dyeing, and printing. In the first step, the fabric is soaked overnight in water to get rid of shrinkage, then dried in the sun for hours. After that fabric is drenched and dried.
