Material
Handcrafted patwa threadwork blue pottery beads rakhi is made using thick weaves of threads and blue pottery beads by the master craftsmen Vishnu Kumar Patwa. Patwa is a thread craft that originated in Rajasthan and is now practiced in parts of Rajasthan. The word 'Patwa' has been derived from the Hindi word 'pat,' meaning 'silk,' and those involved in the silk and cotton thread business are called 'Patwas'. This rakhi reflects the sacred bond between siblings, beautifully blending tradition with heartfelt emotion. The blue pottery bead adds shine and enhances the overall look of this thread rakhi, making it suitable for Raksha Bandhan celebrations and traditional gifting.

For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

What is Blue Pottery?
Blue Pottery from Jaipur does not use clay at all. The base material is quartz stone powder, ground glass, and gum. The distinctive blue and white color palette comes from cobalt oxide glaze. Persian and Mughal influences shape the motifs.
Is the glaze food-safe?
Artisans mix quartz powder, glass powder, and gum into a dough. They shape it on molds (not a wheel), dry it, apply a white glaze, paint blue patterns by hand, and fire it in a kiln. The entire process takes 3-5 days per piece.
Will it chip or crack easily?
Handle with the care you'd give any ceramic piece. Avoid sudden temperature changes. don't pour boiling water into a cold blue pottery item. Normal household use is perfectly fine.
Can I use this in a microwave or oven?
Most handmade blue pottery should not go in microwaves or ovens unless the product page specifically says so. Use for serving and display. The clay composition may not withstand high microwave heat.
How do I clean Blue Pottery products?
Hand wash with mild soap. Avoid soaking for extended periods. Don't use abrasive pads on painted or glazed surfaces. Air dry completely before storing to prevent moisture damage.
