Customs Duty & Information Import duty applies on all values
Import duty applies on all values
  • Good news first: your order ships free above Rs 10,000, fully tracked, and our team helps with payment and any question across the time difference. On customs, the United States is straightforward to plan for. There is no duty-free threshold anymore (the old USD 800 allowance was removed in 2025), so a textile parcel is charged import duty whatever its value.
  • Plan for roughly a quarter to a third of your order value in import duty right now (about 24 to 30%, which includes a temporary 10% surcharge that applies to parcels from every country, not only India). There is no India-only penalty today.
  • There is no national sales tax, though some states add their own. Duty and a small courier handling fee are paid to the courier on delivery. iTokri marks the parcel accurately to keep clearance smooth.

Detail Breakdown

Items Details
De‑minimis threshold (duty‑free) None. No duty-free value; duty applies from the first dollar (verified May 2026).
Base customs duty on clothing About 24 to 30% of declared value today, including the temporary 10% surcharge.
Taxes No federal sales tax. Some states add their own. Courier handling fee applies.
Remarks The 10% surcharge is scheduled to end 24 July 2026 and is under legal review. This is our most-changing market, so check the current rate before you order.

Customs Duty & Information No duty under GBP 135
No duty under GBP 135
  • Smaller orders are light. There is no customs duty at all on orders up to GBP 135, and the VAT on those is added at checkout, so nothing extra is due when your parcel arrives.
  • Above GBP 135, expect about 12% customs duty on arrival, a duty the new UK-India trade agreement is set to remove once it takes effect.
  • Import VAT is 20%. For orders up to GBP 135 sold to consumers, VAT is collected at checkout; above GBP 135 it is collected with the duty on delivery. Charges are paid to the courier.

  • Customs duty: zero on Indian-origin goods. (The standard rate without the agreement would be about 5%.)
  • The only charge is GST at 10%, and on orders up to AUD$1,000 it is usually handled at checkout rather than at the border.

  • Your order ships free above Rs 10,000, fully tracked, and the care team handles any question or exchange personally. Canada is honest to plan for: its duty-free line for parcels from India is very low (CAD$20), so a textile order is charged customs duty on arrival.
  • Expect about 16 to 18% customs duty on clothing and made-up textiles.
  • Add GST at 5% federally, plus your province's sales tax (PST or HST, which is 13 to 15% in participating provinces). Charges are collected by the courier or post on delivery.
