Sujalam is a young textile brand created by Milan Das, a graduate of IICD textiles. Sujalam essentially means water-rich and nutritious. In Sujalam, our designs are inspired by the biology and geometry of rivers, streams, birds, trees, and land and are nurtured by the basic artisans and artisans of India. It pays homage to the sensibilities of typical Bengali craftsmanship and textiles, celebrating a wonderful expression of personality through a unique blend of design and craftsmanship. Sujalam believes in generating revenue through design-driven development. Working with experienced and grassroots artisans, we focus on garments and home textiles in relation to Bengal weaving and surface decoration (jamdani weaving, Kanta embroidery, appliqué, cutwork).
