The traditional process of hand-printing prints on rich natural-colored fabrics has been practiced in Rajasthan for almost 500 years. Woodblock printing was introduced by the Chipa community in the Jaipur region of Rajasthan. The community was originally located in the village of Bagle, an area now famous for its plant-based ink block prints and the Mud Resistance (Dabu). The art of printmaking has been passed down to families and communities for generations and has spread to other areas, such as Sanganer, south of Jaipur in recent decades. In traditional style woodblock printing, a traditional plant-based dye "recipe" is developed within each family and lives on from generation to generation.
Shibori is a very well-known dyeing craft technique that involves folding, twisting, or bunching cloth and binding it, and after that dyeing it in indigo and other colors. It is practiced in Delhi, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.

For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

Silk is a natural fiber renowned for its lustre, strength and durability, and has a long history of trading worldwide. Silk is synonymous with luxury due to its high cost, softness and elegant appearance, and is a popular fabric in high-end fashion and haute couture designs.
Silk is a natural fibre produced by insects as a material for nests and cocoons. Various types of insects produce silk, including silk moths, beetles, bees, bumblebees, wasps, and weaver ants.
There's a reason good quality silk can last a lifetime. For such thin and light fabrics, silk is very durable. Silk threads are four times stronger than steel threads of the same thickness. Hundreds of years ago, the Mongols also made armour from silk.
Silk satin has the upper hand and is a popular choice for dresses to add elegance and charm. Made of coarse and short fibre, it is firm to the touch, lightweight and airy.
