Somnath Karmakar is a member of the Bikna Co-operative, a craft hub in Shiplagram in the Bankura district of Bengal housing nearly eighty-one families. Somnath is a 23-year-old man who is well educated and versed in technology and photography. He represents the community in their marketing efforts by sharing images of products and coordinating with customers. He explains how each figurine takes 5-7 days to craft, graft, cast, bake, dry, and polish. Usually the finest craftsmen make the design first, after which the women sculpt the basic structure with mud. The men generally work with fire and complete the steps of casting and baking the idol. Their sales take place through annual fairs organized by the central and state governments, exhibitions facilitated by NGOs, and orders from Biswa Bangla (the government craft shop). Dokra is a 5,000-year-old craft.

For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

Face shape is one of the most important things to consider when choosing earrings. For those lucky enough to have an oval-shaped face, any type of earrings is suitable. If you have a round face, choose long earrings that will have the effect of slimming.
It is recommended to store each piece individually in a ziplock plastic bag to avoid contact with air. When wearing oxidised jewellery, be careful not to touch perfumes or cosmetics. Dry the perfume before putting on the jewellery.
It also varies from person to person, but oxidised earrings are absolutely skin-friendly and suitable for all skin types.
In general, water does not negatively affect sterling silver. However, there are some cases where chemicals that are mixed with water can cause tarnish or damage more quickly.
