How much fabric will I receive?

What is Mashru weaving?
Mashru weaving originated to solve a religious requirement. The outside surface is silk (for shine) while the inside is cotton (touching skin). Certain communities prohibit silk against skin, so Mashru provides the look of silk with a cotton lining.
How long does it take to weave a Mashru product?
Weavers use a satin weave structure with silk warp on the face and cotton weft on the reverse. The two layers are woven simultaneously on pit looms. The result is a fabric with silk sheen outside and cotton comfort inside.
How can I tell if this is handloom and not powerloom?
Handloom fabric has a slightly uneven texture when you run your fingers along it. The selvedge edges look different from machine-woven ones. The weave carries a softness that powerlooms cannot replicate.

Silk cotton blends the smoothness of silk with cotton's breathability. It feels soft, mid-weight, and comfortable. The blend creates a gentle sheen without silk's full price.
How do I wash Silk Cotton products?
Dry clean is safest for Silk Cotton. If hand washing, use cold water and a mild silk-specific detergent. Never wring. Roll in a towel to absorb moisture, then dry flat in shade.
