Material
This pink plain chanderi fabric is handwoven in Madhya Pradesh by master artisan Rauph Khan. Celebrated for its gossamer texture and refined feel, this exquisite weave combines silk and cotton to bring effortless elegance to everyday wear. Perfect for crafting kurtas, dresses, cushion covers, curtains, dupattas, and other timeless creations.
Note : This piece carries tiny knots, thread pulls, or uneven lines — not flaws, but fingerprints. Every irregularity is a whisper from the hands that made it. It’s what happens when tradition weaves through time, not machines. If you’re looking for perfection, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for soul — you’ve found it.

The exact yardage is mentioned on each product page. Our blouse pieces come in standard cuts. typically 1 metre, 2.5 metres, or full bolts. Check before ordering.
Can I use this fabric for stitching garments?
Yes. Our blouse pieces work well for kurtas, blouses, dresses, and more. The product description notes the fabric weight and drape to help you decide the best garment type.

Handloom and handmade fabrics may shrink 3-5% after the first wash. We suggest buying slightly extra if stitching a fitted garment. Pre-wash in cold water to settle it.
Is the print/design on both sides of the fabric?
Block-printed and screen-printed fabrics show the design on one side. Woven and ikat fabrics often show the pattern on both sides. The product page mentions this.

What is Chanderi weaving?
Chanderi weaving comes from the town of Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh. The fabric is sheer, lightweight, and has a golden shimmer from zari threads. It holds a GI tag and comes in three types: pure silk, silk-cotton, and cotton.
How long does it take to weave a Chanderi product?
Weavers work on pit looms, interlocking fine cotton or silk warp with weft threads. Zari borders are woven in real gold or silver-plated thread. A single saree takes 3 to 15 days depending on the zari density and pattern complexity.
How can I tell if this is handloom and not powerloom?
Handloom fabric has a slightly uneven texture when you run your fingers along it. The selvedge edges look different from machine-woven ones. The weave carries a softness that powerlooms cannot replicate.
Why are there slight irregularities in the weave?
A human hand operates the loom. Thread tension, shuttle speed, and pedal pressure vary naturally. These small irregularities are proof of handloom origin. not defects.
How do I care for Chanderi handloom products?
Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent for the first few washes. Avoid wringing. gently squeeze and dry flat in shade. The fabric softens beautifully with each wash.
What does Chanderi Silk feel like?
Chanderi Silk has a smooth, cool-to-touch surface with a natural sheen. It drapes elegantly and feels light against the skin. The texture becomes softer with gentle use over time.
How do I wash Chanderi Silk products?
Dry clean is safest for Chanderi Silk. If hand washing, use cold water and a mild silk-specific detergent. Never wring. Roll in a towel to absorb moisture, then dry flat in shade.
Is Chanderi Silk suitable for summer or winter?
Chanderi Silk works across seasons. It feels cool in summer and retains warmth in winter. The natural temperature regulation of silk makes it comfortable year-round in Indian climates.
How durable is Chanderi Silk?
With proper care, Chanderi Silk products last for years. The fibre is naturally strong. Avoid rough handling, direct sun, and chemical detergents. Gentle care keeps it looking fresh long-term.
Why is Chanderi Silk priced higher than cotton?
Silk production is labour-intensive. from rearing silkworms to reeling the thread. Chanderi Silk involves additional regional techniques that add time and skill. The price reflects the material and the maker's effort.
