Madhumoy ji is 54 years old and has been practicing the craft of Meenakari for more than 30 years now. He works with gold and bronze alloys. He lives in Howra, West Bengal. He has represented the craft on various platforms, such as Dastkar and the Surajkund Mela.
The art of metal decoration with enamel or Meenakari was foreign to India and was introduced by the Mughals. Amber's Raja Man Singh brought Meenakari to Rajasthan in the early 16th century.
