Asharam Handicrafts is a group of about 30 professional wood sculptors. Asha Ram is a craftsman from Uttar Pradesh. He has been doing this craft for nearly 30 years. Asha Ram mastered the art of cutting, carving, and wood inlay, among other things. This process is laborious and time-consuming. Various tools are required for cutting, filing, engraving, and finishing. The wood, cut to the required shape and size, goes through a process of smoothing and sculpting to create a pattern and sculpt. He makes wooden products such as boxes, bracelets, trinkets, key chains, coasters, and other useful gift items made from Sheesham, Indian rosewood, and denser ebony. This work showcases his skills in design, artistry, carpentry, and woodcarving.
Woodcarving is a form of woodworking that uses a single-handed cutting tool (knife) or two-handed chisel or a chisel and a mallet to create a wood figure.
