Woodblock printing was introduced by the Chipa community in the Jaipur region of Rajasthan. The community was originally located in the village of Bagle, an area now famous for its plant-based ink block prints and the Mud Resistance (Dabu). The art of printmaking has been passed down to families and communities for generations and has spread to other areas, such as Sanganer, south of Jaipur in recent decades.
