Parandi making has long roots in Punjab with Patiala being one of the oldest parandi making centers in the country. Women have always loved to dress up their hair, but because they have to cover their heads, hair accessories like their golden clips and pins are barely visible under their gowns.
A palandi is a long bundle of thread with intricate decorative tassels at the bottom, used by Punjabi women to braid their long hair.
