Unlike other places where this particular craft is practiced, artists in Srikalahasti retains the ancient techniques of dyeing which have been passed down from generations. As it is hand-painted/handcrafted, colour spread and irregularity in design is common, hence it won't be considered as damaged or defective. Chanderi silks are known for its gossamer looks and amazing feel.

DWARAKA worked to develop an entirely new and exclusive dimension to kalamkari by designing a comprehensive product range that caters to the needs of a global market. Through these new kalamkari products the efforts of artists were sustained and the scope for the art's survival was widened.
