Debasish Kundu was born into a weaver family and raised in a small town, Kalna, which is a handloom cluster and is surrounded by rich culture and heritage. Their love for textiles and art began at a tender age; they grew up amidst the colourful tapestry of local handlooms and the stories they weaved. Their creations are characterized by intricate patterns, symmetrical motifs, and a mesmerizing interplay of colours as they weave emotions and cultural narratives into every thread of their fabric. Their signature style is often a seamless fusion of traditional techniques with contemporary elements, resulting in unique pieces that exude elegance and authenticity. They go beyond personal success and thus actively collaborate with local artisans, weavers, and dyers. They have 55 weaver families and 5 dyer families, empowering them with their knowledge and modern design insights by fostering sustainable practices. They strive to preserve traditional craftsmanship while creating opportunities for socioeconomic growth in the communities they work with. They specialize in muslin and jamdani with intricate designs. They make jamdanis till 300 counts and plain muslin till 500 counts, which is extremely rare to find in modern days. They make sarees, stoles, and scarves and yardages of different counts and blends.
