Description & Material
Fine quality embossed shanti black leather mirror case handcrafted by the master artisans of West Bengal. This fine-quality case protects your mirror, making it a stylish and practical accessory for on-the-go touch-ups and self-care. Embossed leather products are made using vegetable tanned leather. Every piece is embossed using a metal die, after which it is individually painted by hand using spirit colours. Each product is then constructed by hand. With time it becomes softer and deeper in colour as is the natural characteristic of leather.

For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

What is Shantiniketan Leather?
Shantiniketan Leather Craft comes from Shantiniketan in West Bengal, influenced by Rabindranath Tagore's art movement. Artisans emboss and hand-paint vegetable-tanned leather with Bengali folk and nature motifs.
How is Shantiniketan Leather made?
Artisans dampen leather, press carved wooden stamps to create relief patterns, then hand-paint the raised areas. Batik-style wax resist is sometimes used. The leather is colored with natural dyes and polished for a smooth finish.
How can I tell this is genuinely handmade?
Look for minor variations in shape, color, or pattern. Machine-made products look perfectly uniform. Handmade Shantiniketan Leather pieces carry the maker's touch in every small detail.
Why does each piece look slightly different?
Every piece is made by hand, one at a time. Slight differences in material, pressure, and technique make each one unique. That's what separates handcraft from factory output.
How do I care for Shantiniketan Leather products?
Handle gently. Keep dry and clean. Specific care depends on the material. Check the product page. Most pieces stay in excellent condition with regular dusting and gentle handling.
