Material
Purple mangalagiri pure handwoven silk cotton pattu saree is crafted by skilled master artisans using traditional pit loom techniques. This craft dates back over 500 years and originates from the town of Mangalagiri in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. It is known for its simplicity, fine weaving, durability and comfortable texture. The process is detailed and time-intensive, often taking around 1–2 days to complete a single saree. It is easy to drape and comfortable to wear for long hours, making it a suitable choice for weddings, festive occasions, poojas, family functions and other special moments.
Note: This piece carries tiny knots, thread pulls or uneven lines not flaws, but fingerprints. Every irregularity is a whisper from the hands that made it. It’s what happens when tradition weaves through time, not machines. If you’re looking for perfection, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for soul you’ve found it.

What is Mangalgiri weaving?
Mangalgiri weaving comes from Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh. The cotton and silk sarees are known for their Nizam border with a narrow gold or colored stripe. The fabric has a firm texture and holds starch well.
How long does it take to weave a Mangalgiri product?
Weavers use cotton or silk yarn on pit looms. The Nizam border is created by changing the weft color at the border section. The zari stripe is woven in using an extra shuttle. A saree takes 1-3 days.
How can I tell if this is handloom and not powerloom?
Handloom fabric has a slightly uneven texture when you run your fingers along it. The selvedge edges look different from machine-woven ones. The weave carries a softness that powerlooms cannot replicate.
Why are there slight irregularities in the weave?
A human hand operates the loom. Thread tension, shuttle speed, and pedal pressure vary naturally. These small irregularities are proof of handloom origin. not defects.
