Material
Maroon handloom cotton natural dyed hand block print Pedana kalamkari towel features detailed traditional motifs inspired by Andhra Pradesh’s Machilipatnam kalamkari printing style. Created by master artisan Pitchuka Srinivas, the patterns are printed using finely carved wooden blocks and natural dyes through multiple stages of printing, drying, washing and color setting. This cotton towel has a soft texture with good absorbency, making it comfortable for regular use. Lightweight and easy to carry, this Pedana kalamkari towel is suitable for bathing, travel, yoga, gym use or everyday home use while showcasing detailed hand block print surface patterns.
A Note on Handmade Beauty
Each piece is hand block printed and dyed using natural colors over a slow process of 15–20 days. As a result, you may notice slight variations in color, mild pigment smudges or irregular dye patterns, these are not defects. They’re gentle marks of authenticity, proudly bearing the touch of human hands, heritage, and nature’s own palette. Wear them like a signature, because no two pieces are ever alike.
Care
Gentle hand wash separately in cold water with mild/liquid detergents, excess natural colours may bleed when washed for the first time. Avoid soaking for too long.
Note: Minor color bleed may first 1–2 washes, It is recommended to soak in salt water before use.
Colour
Slight difference in colour from the visible product image is possible

For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

For lasting comfort, check the label for 100% combed cotton.
Check the stitching for thick, tight curls.
Don't just flip the towel on the shelf - pick it up!
Double-flip edges with double stitching are key to durability.
In general, bath towels weighing 400 GSM or more are considered good quality. The fabric of these soft towels is woven thicker, thus softer and more absorbent than the lower GSM fabric.
Although it is commonly used for drying after being in water, its main purpose is to provide a surface to lie on. They are also worn to ensure privacy when changing clothes in public and to wipe sand from the body or objects.
After all, if the towel's threads start to pull, or if you notice a lingering smell despite being carefully washed, it's time to throw it away. Body towels and hand towels can last 2-5 years depending on quality.
Counting the number of uses is more important than counting the number of days between washes, and it is a good rule of thumb to wash after every three uses. Cotton towels can be washed by dissolving a small amount of detergent and chlorine-free bleach in lukewarm water, and colored towels can be washed in cold water using neutral detergent and non-color bleach.
