Ajrakh handloom cotton medium kaftan is crafted using traditional natural-dyeing and resist block-printing techniques practiced for generations in the Kutch region. Ajrakh is an ancient craft estimated to be nearly 4,500 years old, known for its deep, earthy colours and geometric layouts. The printing process is long and intricate, involving multiple stages of washing, dyeing, and resist application. It also includes a shibori tie-dye pattern on the fabric. Designed in a comfortable kaftan silhouette, it comes with tassels, offering a relaxed fit and airy drape, making it ideal for everyday wear, lounging, or casual outings.
A Note on Handmade Beauty: Each piece is hand block printed and dyed using natural colors over a slow process of 15–20 days. As a result, you may notice slight variations in color, mild pigment smudges or irregular dye patterns, these are not defects. They’re gentle marks of authenticity, proudly bearing the touch of human hands, heritage, and nature’s own palette. Wear them like a signature, because no two pieces are ever alike.
Care
Gentle hand wash separately in cold water with mild/liquid detergents, excess natural colours may bleed when washed for the first time. Avoid soaking for too long.
