Chhoti Si Asha is a women-led non-profit based in Chandigarh, working with women from rural and underserved backgrounds to co-create handcrafted products rooted in embroidery, crochet, weaving, and stitching. What makes their journey special is that many women begin as hobbyists and, through peer learning and design collaboration, grow into skilled artisans. Each product reflects this journey of craft, confidence, and community. Founded in 2009 as a grassroots initiative, Chhoti Si Asha started by engaging with children and local communities, where craft became a way to connect and create. Over time, women joined to learn and gradually began building something of their own. What began with small orders has evolved into a vibrant ecosystem of artisan clusters and design-led products. They create handcrafted bags, stationery, toys, home and lifestyle products, and accessories—bringing traditional craft into everyday use. Having trained over 450 women, they currently work with around 120–150 artisans. Their purpose is to make handcrafted products a part of daily life while enabling meaningful, skill-based livelihoods. Each order supports a growing community where women learn, earn, and grow together with dignity.

For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

Pochampally Ikat comes from Pochampally village in Telangana, recognized as a UNESCO tradition site. The village practices double ikat, where both warp and weft yarns are tie-dyed before weaving. GI tagged.
Both sets of yarns (warp and weft) are tied and dyed to predetermined patterns. When placed on the loom, the dyed threads intersect to form the design. The alignment requires extreme precision. A saree takes 5-10 days.
Handloom fabric has a slightly uneven texture when you run your fingers along it. The selvedge edges look different from machine-woven ones. The weave carries a softness that powerlooms cannot replicate.
A human hand operates the loom. Thread tension, shuttle speed, and pedal pressure vary naturally. These small irregularities are proof of handloom origin. not defects.
Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent for the first few washes. Avoid wringing. gently squeeze and dry flat in shade. The fabric softens beautifully with each wash.
Jute feels rough, sturdy, and distinctly natural. The golden fibres have a dry, coarse texture. Woven jute products have a firm grip and earthy aroma that fades gently over time.
