Description & Material
Sanganeri unstitched dress material is hand block printed by skilled master artisans of Sanganer, a town in the southern part of Jaipur, Rajasthan. It is made from maheshwari silk cotton and features a kurta piece, matching bottom fabric and dupatta. Stitch it into a salwar suit, kurta set, straight kurta or any coordinated ethnic outfit, suitable for everyday wear, festive occasions, weddings and celebrations. This printing technique is over 500 years old. It features fine patterns created with hand-carved wooden blocks and bleed-free VAT dyes. Every design features delicate floral motifs inspired by roses, lotus, lilies and sunflowers.

Prem dosaya is a traditional hand block print artisan from Bagru, Jaipur, Rajasthan. He comes from a family where Bagru hand block printing has been practiced for six generations. From childhood, he learned this intricate craft from his father, spending years mastering the techniques of design, production, and traditional printing methods. With decades of experience in hand block printing, Prem recognized a critical challenge: skilled artisans in Bagru had no collective platform, no market access, and were forced to sell their work at low prices. Many young artisans were leaving the craft because it couldn't sustain their families. Driven by a desire to preserve this heritage and provide dignified livelihoods, Prem Dosaya founded Santosh Handicrafts Bagru as a collective effort. The initiative brought together artisans from the region to produce sarees, suits, fabrics, dupattas, kurtis, and customized orders using traditional Bagru, Dabu, Ajrakh, Jahota, and Rapid prints with natural and vegetable-based processes. Today, around 17 to 18 skilled artisans work under Santosh Handicrafts Bagru. Prem's vision is to promote Bagru hand block printing on a larger scale, create more opportunities for artisans, and ensure this six-generation heritage survives and thrives.
