Description & Material
Phulkari floral hand embroidered double bedsheet set includes one double bedsheet and two matching pillow covers, making it a complete bedding set for your bedroom. The colourful floral embroidery adds a distinctive traditional touch to the space, while the matching pillow covers create a coordinated look. Ideal for everyday use, guest rooms, festive home styling and adding a decorative touch to your bedroom. Crafted from thick glazed cotton, this set showcases the centuries old phulkari hand embroidery tradition of Punjab, where colourful threads are used to create detailed floral patterns on the fabric. One notable variation is Bagh work, where dense embroidery covers most of the base fabric to create a garden-like design.

For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

All garments are measured flat and are intentionally designed to be 2–4 inches looser than body measurements, allowing for a comfortable, easy fit.
Each garment is finished with little to no additional margin.
If your measurements fall between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size for a relaxed fit. You can opt for our complimentary alteration service or have it adjusted by your local tailor, as per your convenience. Can I machine wash this?
Cotton bed covers can go in a gentle machine cycle after the first hand wash. Silk or embroidered pieces need hand washing only. Cold water is best for all types.
Will this work in summer or is it winter-only?
Depends on the material. Cotton and mulmul bed covers breathe well in summer. Quilted and wool options work for cooler months. Product pages note seasonal suitability.
Is the filling natural or synthetic?
Our quilted bed covers use cotton filling unless otherwise noted. No polyester fill in most pieces. The product description mentions the exact fill material used.
Does the color match the photos?
Colours in photos are shot under natural light and represent the product closely. Handloom dyes can shift slightly between batches. A 5-10% variation is standard for handmade textiles.
What is Phulkari embroidery?
Phulkari (flower work) comes from Punjab. Women stitch dense, geometric floral patterns on the reverse side of fabric using untwisted floss silk thread. A fully covered Phulkari is called Bagh (garden).
How long does Phulkari embroidery take?
The stitcher works from the wrong side of the fabric using a long darning stitch. She follows the fabric weave by counting threads. No design is drawn on the fabric beforehand. The entire pattern is created by stitch counting alone.
How can I tell if the embroidery is hand-done?
Hand embroidery has a slightly irregular stitch pattern on the reverse side. Machine embroidery shows perfectly uniform stitches. The texture and depth of hand stitching is visibly different.
Will the threads pull or snag during use?
Handle embroidered areas gently. Avoid rubbing against rough surfaces. If a thread catches, don't pull. push it back gently with a needle. Proper care keeps the embroidery intact for years.
How do I wash embroidered products?
Turn inside out and hand wash in cold water. Do not wring or scrub the embroidered area. Press gently with a towel to remove water. Iron on the reverse side at low heat.
What does Cotton feel like?
Cotton feels soft, breathable, and familiar against skin. Handloom cotton has a slight irregularity you can feel with your fingertips . tiny slubs that machine-made fabric lacks.
How do I wash Cotton products?
Hand wash or gentle machine cycle in cold water. Use mild detergent. Cotton can shrink 3-5% in the first wash. that's normal. Air dry in shade for best color retention.
Is Cotton suitable for all seasons?
Cotton breathes well in hot weather and layers comfortably in winter. It's one of the most versatile fabrics across Indian seasons. Lighter weaves suit summer; denser ones work in cooler months.
How durable is Cotton?
Cotton is one of the most durable natural fabrics. It holds up well to regular washing and daily wear. Handloom cotton often outlasts its machine-made counterparts.
What makes handloom Cotton different from mul cotton?
Handloom Cotton has a distinct texture. slightly uneven, with a softer hand-feel. It's woven on manual looms with natural yarn tension. Mill cotton is uniform but lacks that organic character.
