Description & Material
Ekibeki handcrafted copper enamel rangoli diyas - Set of 5 is crafted by skilled artisans from the Western Ghats of Maharashtra. Made from pure copper, each diya is finished with a glass enamel surface that brings distinct colours and a smooth, glossy appearance. Designed for pooja, these diyas can be arranged around a rangoli, placed on a pooja thali, or used as decorative accents during festive celebrations. Copper enamelling is a centuries-old craft in which powdered glass is arranged on the copper in desired patterns and heated at 700–900°C until it melts and fuses onto the surface. This enamel coating enriches the copper while helping protect it from oxidation.

For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

The measurements provided indicate body measurements and are listed in both centimetres and inches for easy reference.
All garments are measured flat and are intentionally designed to be 2–4 inches looser than body measurements, allowing for a comfortable, easy fit.
Each garment is finished with little to no additional margin.
If your measurements fall between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size for a relaxed fit. You can opt for our complimentary alteration service or have it adjusted by your local tailor, as per your convenience. Disclaimer: A measurement variation of ±1 inch may occur when the garment is worn.

How do I know this is genuinely handmade?
We source every product directly from artisan workshops across India. No middlemen, no factories. We work with over 10,000 artisans in 500+ craft clusters.
How will my order be packed?
Every order includes a handwritten note and a small surprise gift from us. Your product is wrapped carefully to reach you safe. We've done this since day one.
What material is this diya made from?
Our diyas are crafted from terracotta, brass, ceramic, or hand-painted clay. The product page lists the exact material. Traditional terracotta diyas are unglazed for oil absorption.
Does this come with oil or wicks?
Traditional diyas are sold without wicks or oil unless the listing says otherwise. Cotton wicks and mustard oil are easily available locally. Decorative painted diyas come as-is for display.
Can I use this with both oil and wax?
Terracotta and ceramic diyas work well with both oil and small tea light candles. Brass diyas are traditionally used with oil and cotton wicks. Check dimensions to ensure your candle fits.
Is this for daily use or festive decoration?
Both. Simple terracotta and brass diyas are built for regular puja use. Painted and decorative diyas double as festive decor. Many customers buy a mix of both.
How do I clean this after use?
Wipe brass diyas with a dry cloth. Terracotta diyas absorb oil over time and may not clean fully, which is normal. Painted and ceramic diyas can be gently wiped with a damp cloth.
What is Enamel Work craft?
Enamel Work involves fusing colored glass powder onto metal surfaces at high temperatures. The result is a smooth, glass-like colored coating that's durable and vivid. Jaipur, Varanasi, and Kashmir are key centers.
What metal is used in Enamel Work products?
Artisans engrave or etch patterns on metal (usually copper or gold), fill the recessed areas with colored glass powder, then fire the piece in a kiln. The glass melts and bonds to the metal. Multiple firings build color layers.
Will the metal tarnish or change color?
Brass and copper naturally develop a patina over time. This is normal and considered desirable by many. Clean with lemon and salt paste to restore original shine if preferred.
Is this safe for food contact?
Brass and copper vessels have been used for food in India for centuries. For acidic foods, use a tin-coated interior. The product description notes food-safety where applicable.
How do I maintain Enamel Work products?
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after use. For deeper cleaning, use lemon juice and salt or a mild metal polish. Store in a dry place. Avoid abrasive scrubbers on finished surfaces.
What does Copper & Brass feel like?
Copper and brass feel heavy, solid, and cool to the touch. The metal warms quickly in your hands. Over time, the surface develops a natural patina that many collectors value.
How do I clean Copper & Brass products?
Wipe with a soft dry cloth for regular care. For deeper cleaning, use lemon juice with salt or a mild metal polish. Avoid abrasive scrubbers on finished or engraved surfaces.
Will Copper & Brass tarnish over time?
Brass and copper develop a natural patina with exposure to air and moisture. Many people prefer this aged look. If not, regular polishing keeps the original shine intact.
Is Copper & Brass durable?
Copper & Brass is built to last generations. Metal products don't break, chip, or fade like other materials. With basic upkeep, they stay functional and beautiful for decades.
Is Copper & Brass safe for food and water?
Brass and copper have been used in Indian kitchens for centuries. For acidic foods, use tin-lined versions. The product page notes food-safety for each specific piece.
