For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

Cards, UPI, net banking, and wallets. All accepted. Cash on delivery is available across India. International customers can pay via PayPal or global cards.
How do I know this is genuinely handmade?
We source every product directly from artisan workshops across India. No middlemen, no factories. We work with over 10,000 artisans in 500+ craft clusters.
How will my order be packed?
Every order includes a handwritten note and a small surprise gift from us. Your product is wrapped carefully to reach you safe. We've done this since day one.
What are the dimensions of your dupattas?
Our dupattas range from 2 to 2.5 metres in length. Width varies between 0.5 and 1 metre depending on the style. Exact dimensions are on each product page.
Can I use this as a head covering or scarf?
Yes. Our dupattas work well as head coverings, neck scarves, or draped over the shoulder. The lighter ones double up nicely for travel and layering.
Will the colors bleed when I wash it?
We recommend a cold water hand wash for the first use. Some natural dyes may release slight color initially. that settles after the first wash. Always wash separately the first time.
Is this suitable as a gift?
Our dupattas make thoughtful gifts. They are practical, beautiful, and carry the story of the craft behind them. We pack every order with care and a handwritten note.
How do I iron or press this?
Iron on low heat while slightly damp for best results. Use a pressing cloth on silk, chiffon, or embroidered dupattas. Steam works well on cotton and linen. Avoid high heat on synthetics.
What is Khun weaving?
Khun weaving comes from North Karnataka. The fabric is a silk-cotton blend with small woven checks and geometric motifs. It was traditionally used for blouses and is now used in sarees, dupattas, and bags.
How long does it take to weave a Khun product?
Weavers use a throw shuttle pit loom with silk and cotton yarns. The small geometric patterns are woven into the fabric using dobby or extra weft technique. The fabric is lightweight with a gentle sheen from the silk content.
How can I tell if this is handloom and not powerloom?
Handloom fabric has a slightly uneven texture when you run your fingers along it. The selvedge edges look different from machine-woven ones. The weave carries a softness that powerlooms cannot replicate.
Why are there slight irregularities in the weave?
A human hand operates the loom. Thread tension, shuttle speed, and pedal pressure vary naturally. These small irregularities are proof of handloom origin. not defects.
How do I care for Khun handloom products?
Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent for the first few washes. Avoid wringing. gently squeeze and dry flat in shade. The fabric softens beautifully with each wash.
What does Cotton feel like?
Cotton feels soft, breathable, and familiar against skin. Handloom cotton has a slight irregularity you can feel with your fingertips . tiny slubs that machine-made fabric lacks.
How do I wash Cotton products?
Hand wash or gentle machine cycle in cold water. Use mild detergent. Cotton can shrink 3-5% in the first wash. that's normal. Air dry in shade for best color retention.
Is Cotton suitable for all seasons?
Cotton breathes well in hot weather and layers comfortably in winter. It's one of the most versatile fabrics across Indian seasons. Lighter weaves suit summer; denser ones work in cooler months.
How durable is Cotton?
Cotton is one of the most durable natural fabrics. It holds up well to regular washing and daily wear. Handloom cotton often outlasts its machine-made counterparts.
What makes handloom Cotton different from mul cotton?
Handloom Cotton has a distinct texture. slightly uneven, with a softer hand-feel. It's woven on manual looms with natural yarn tension. Mill cotton is uniform but lacks that organic character.
