Udayagiri cutlery is known for its intricate carvings and fine proportions and is made by a few master craftspersons of the region. This woodcraft continues a tradition that is about 150 years old. Material for making the kitchen items are nardi wood, devadari, bikki chakka and kaldi chakka. The smaller items like spoons, forks and paper knifes by nardi and bikki wood. Bigger spoons and forks are made out of harder wood called kaldi.
