Alankrita is a brand that started its journey 20 years ago. Alankrita basically deals with sustainable products. It started designing and producing handloom sarees, stoles, blouses, and home decor with jamdani craft. Later, the brand incised natural dye, eco print, and kantha stitch along the jamdani craft. It works with female clusters. Approximately 180 local artisans are associated with it. The purpose of Alankrita is to generate women's empowerment. Designer pure silver jewellery is another product that Alankrita produces.
Jamdani weaving is a style unique to Bengal. It's like doing Hand Embroidery on a loom. Because of the intricate patterns it has, Jamdani has always been a highly expensive product. The process also includes tedious form of hand looming.
