Chhau Mask is a traditional cultural heritage of Purulia in the Indian state of West Bengal. The tradition of making Chhau masks started during the rule of king Madan Mohan Singh Deo of Baghmundi. The Chhau mask is traditionally associated with the age-old dance forms in Purulia.

He inherited the cultural heritage of this craft from his father, late Gopal Chandra Sutradhar. Like many other artisans of this village, Dharmendra has also adopted the style of chhau dance being son of this soil. Masks made by him have been displayed in various national and international arenas with high esteem.
