Material
Pink Indian madder handloom organic cotton fabric is woven by master artisans of Balaramapuram, Kerala, a weaving town whose handloom tradition stretches back several centuries and remains one of the finest cotton weaving centres in South India. Organic cotton threads are handwoven on traditional pit looms, then dyed using natural medicinal herbs including indian madder, sappanwood, triphala, amla and myrobalan. These plant-based dyes sit gently on the skin. The resulting fabric is soft, breathable, and kind to the skin through long hours of wear. Perfect for kurtas, salwars, sarees or any garment you want to feel good in all day.
Note : This piece carries tiny knots, thread pulls or uneven lines not flaws but fingerprints. Every irregularity is a whisper from the hands that made it. It’s what happens when tradition weaves through time not machines. If you’re looking for perfection, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for soul you’ve found it.
Care
Gentle hand wash separately in cold water with bleach free detergents. Avoid soaking for too long. Dry in shade.
Colour

In 1963, G. Sudhakaran founded the S N Lace Weaving Center in Balaramapuram, Kerala, named in honor of the social reformer Sree Narayana Guru, producing traditional Balaramapuram handloom using an organic gumming process for yarn treatment. In 1992, his son Mr. Sujeev took over the firm. Inspired by the Ayurvastra concept, he collaborated with Ayurvedic experts, dyers, organic mills, and garment units to introduce the first Ayurvastra product in 2006: bedsheets and pillow covers processed with medicinal herb-based dyes. That same year, in partnership with a local handloom society, 10,000 bedsheets were introduced into the market. In 2008, Kairali Exports was established to extend operations to the textile clusters of Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, and Karur in Tamil Nadu. Today, over 2,000 skilled handloom weavers in and around Balaramapuram weave this fabric, supported by a dedicated Ayurvedic facility, handloom center, research unit, and herbal farmland. Their vision is to merge Ayurvedic principles with clothing, promoting healing, well-being, sustainability, and ethical practices. Their mission is to combine Ayurvedic principles with textile production, using natural herbs in dyeing and supporting local artisans in rural communities.

Yes. Our blouse pieces work well for kurtas, blouses, dresses, and more. The product description notes the fabric weight and drape to help you decide the best garment type.
Will the fabric shrink after washing?
Handloom and handmade fabrics may shrink 3-5% after the first wash. We suggest buying slightly extra if stitching a fitted garment. Pre-wash in cold water to settle it.

Block-printed and screen-printed fabrics show the design on one side. Woven and ikat fabrics often show the pattern on both sides. The product page mentions this.

What is Plain/Solid?
Plain/Solid fabrics have a single, uniform color without any print, pattern, or embellishment. The beauty lies in the fabric quality, weave texture, and natural drape. These serve as versatile basics for any wardrobe or home.
How is Plain/Solid made?
Weavers or mills produce fabric in a single dye bath, creating uniform color across the entire surface. For handloom plain fabrics, subtle texture variations from the weaving process add depth even without a pattern.
How can I tell this is genuinely handmade?
Look for minor variations in shape, color, or pattern. Machine-made products look perfectly uniform. Handmade Digital Print pieces carry the maker's touch in every small detail.
Why does each piece look slightly different?
Every piece is made by hand, one at a time. Slight differences in material, pressure, and technique make each one unique. That's what separates handcraft from factory output.
How do I care for Plain/Solid products?
Handle gently. Keep dry and clean. Specific care depends on the material. check the product page. Most pieces stay in excellent condition with regular dusting and gentle handling.
What does Cotton feel like?
Cotton feels soft, breathable, and familiar against skin. Handloom cotton has a slight irregularity you can feel with your fingertips . tiny slubs that machine-made fabric lacks.
How do I wash Cotton products?
Hand wash or gentle machine cycle in cold water. Use mild detergent. Cotton can shrink 3-5% in the first wash. that's normal. Air dry in shade for best color retention.
Is Cotton suitable for all seasons?
Cotton breathes well in hot weather and layers comfortably in winter. It's one of the most versatile fabrics across Indian seasons. Lighter weaves suit summer; denser ones work in cooler months.
How durable is Cotton?
Cotton is one of the most durable natural fabrics. It holds up well to regular washing and daily wear. Handloom cotton often outlasts its machine-made counterparts.
What makes handloom Cotton different from mul cotton?
Handloom Cotton has a distinct texture. slightly uneven, with a softer hand-feel. It's woven on manual looms with natural yarn tension. Mill cotton is uniform but lacks that organic character.
