Description & Material
A narrow silver-grey border climbs both side slits of this kurta and rings each cuff, its small repeat shaped like a row of temple tops. Against it, the deep teal blue ground carries round off-white dots, woven into the cloth rather than printed on, set evenly in loose rows over the body and the sleeves, their edges slightly soft.
The cotton itself is matte and opaque, lightly textured, and hangs with a soft fall. A band collar opens into a short placket, closed to mid-chest with five round cream buttons, which the fourth photograph shows beside the cuff border. The sleeves are straight and a little wide at three-quarter length, the slits run deep, and the first photograph has a hand at the hip where a pocket sits in the side seam. Because the border follows the slits, their edges stay finished as they open with each step.
Office wear suits the collar and the buttoned placket, and the cotton is easy enough for daily wear. The photographs set it over light grey palazzos, beside a potted palm on a jute rug.

How do I pick the right size for kurtas?
Every product page has a size chart with bust, waist, hip, and length measurements in inches and centimetres. Measure a garment that fits you well and compare with our chart.
Is this ready to wear or do I need to get it stitched?
Our kurtas are ready to wear unless the listing says 'unstitched.' Stitched pieces ship as-is. Unstitched pieces need a tailor. we include measurement guidance where needed.
What is the fit like. loose, regular, or slim?
The fit type is noted on every product page. Most of our kurtas have a relaxed, comfortable fit. If you prefer a closer fit, consider going one size down.
Can I machine wash this?
We recommend hand washing for the first 2-3 washes. After that, gentle machine wash works for most cotton and blended kurtas. Silk and embroidered pieces need hand wash only.
Will this work for office wear?
Solid-colour cotton or linen kurtas with minimal embellishment work well for offices. Pair with straight pants for a professional look. Heavily embroidered ones suit festive occasions.
What is Jacquard weaving?
Jacquard weaving uses a special loom attachment that lifts individual warp threads to create complex patterns. The technique allows detailed floral, paisley, and geometric designs to be woven directly into the fabric.
How long does it take to weave a Jacquard product?
Punch cards or digital programming on the jacquard head control which threads rise for each weft pass. This enables intricate motifs without manual pick-and-choose of threads. The weaver operates the loom while the mechanism handles the pattern.
How can I tell if this is handloom and not powerloom?
Handloom fabric has a slightly uneven texture when you run your fingers along it. The selvedge edges look different from machine-woven ones. The weave carries a softness that powerlooms cannot replicate.
Why are there slight irregularities in the weave?
A human hand operates the loom. Thread tension, shuttle speed, and pedal pressure vary naturally. These small irregularities are proof of handloom origin. not defects.
How do I care for Jacquard handloom products?
Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent for the first few washes. Avoid wringing. gently squeeze and dry flat in shade. The fabric softens beautifully with each wash.
What does Cotton feel like?
Cotton feels soft, breathable, and familiar against skin. Handloom cotton has a slight irregularity you can feel with your fingertips . tiny slubs that machine-made fabric lacks.
How do I wash Cotton products?
Hand wash or gentle machine cycle in cold water. Use mild detergent. Cotton can shrink 3-5% in the first wash. that's normal. Air dry in shade for best color retention.
Is Cotton suitable for all seasons?
Cotton breathes well in hot weather and layers comfortably in winter. It's one of the most versatile fabrics across Indian seasons. Lighter weaves suit summer; denser ones work in cooler months.
How durable is Cotton?
Cotton is one of the most durable natural fabrics. It holds up well to regular washing and daily wear. Handloom cotton often outlasts its machine-made counterparts.
What makes handloom Cotton different from mul cotton?
Handloom Cotton has a distinct texture. slightly uneven, with a softer hand-feel. It's woven on manual looms with natural yarn tension. Mill cotton is uniform but lacks that organic character.
