For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

Yes. Our blouse pieces work well for kurtas, blouses, dresses, and more. The product description notes the fabric weight and drape to help you decide the best garment type.

Handloom and handmade fabrics may shrink 3-5% after the first wash. We suggest buying slightly extra if stitching a fitted garment. Pre-wash in cold water to settle it.

What is Kutch Embroidery embroidery?
Kutch embroidery encompasses several sub-styles from different communities: Rabari (mirror work), Ahir (chain stitch), Jat (interlocking patterns), and Mutwa (fine geometric). Each community has its own distinct stitch and color palette.
How long does Kutch Embroidery embroidery take?
Artisan women embroider by hand using needle and thread. Mirror work involves attaching small mirrors with buttonhole stitches. Chain stitch is done with an aari hook. The designs are worked from memory, not from drawn patterns.
How can I tell if the embroidery is hand-done?
Hand embroidery has a slightly irregular stitch pattern on the reverse side. Machine embroidery shows perfectly uniform stitches. The texture and depth of hand stitching is visibly different.
Will the threads pull or snag during use?
Handle embroidered areas gently. Avoid rubbing against rough surfaces. If a thread catches, don't pull. push it back gently with a needle. Proper care keeps the embroidery intact for years.
How do I wash embroidered products?
Turn inside out and hand wash in cold water. Do not wring or scrub the embroidered area. Press gently with a towel to remove water. Iron on the reverse side at low heat.
What does Mashru Silk feel like?
Mashru has a satin-smooth silk face and a soft cotton back. It feels cool against skin thanks to the cotton lining. The dual texture gives it a distinct, comfortable weight.
How do I wash Mashru Silk products?
Dry clean is safest for Mashru Silk. If hand washing, use cold water and a mild silk-specific detergent. Never wring. Roll in a towel to absorb moisture, then dry flat in shade.
Is Mashru Silk suitable for summer or winter?
Mashru Silk works across seasons. It feels cool in summer and retains warmth in winter. The natural temperature regulation of silk makes it comfortable year-round in Indian climates.
How durable is Mashru Silk?
With proper care, Mashru Silk products last for years. The fibre is naturally strong. Avoid rough handling, direct sun, and chemical detergents. Gentle care keeps it looking fresh long-term.
Why is Mashru Silk priced higher than cotton?
Silk production is labour-intensive. from rearing silkworms to reeling the thread. Mashru Silk involves additional regional techniques that add time and skill. The price reflects the material and the maker's effort.
