Material
Godna handpainted tussar silk handloom 2pc unstitched dress material kurta set is made by master artisans of Chhattisgarh. Godna is a traditional art form of Sarguja, Chhattisgarh, originally inspired by the tattoo culture of the region. The paintings are done by hand using acrylic colours, drawing inspiration from the everyday life of Indian villages. Tussar silk is known for its unique texture, combining the sheen of silk with the feel of cotton, making it suitable for all seasons. The set includes an unstitched kurta material with Godna hand painting and a dupatta with zari buta work. Perfect for casual outings, festive occasions, and daily wear.
Note : This piece carries tiny knots, thread pulls, or uneven lines not flaws, but fingerprints. Every irregularity is a whisper from the hands that made it. It’s what happens when tradition weaves through time, not machines. If you’re looking for perfection, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for soul you’ve found it.

For those of you using a 44-inch wide fabric, this guide suggests measurements for a standard L Size. Think of this as your starting point. If you're working with different sizes or fabric widths, just adjust up or down accordingly. Hope this helps!
When it comes to how much fabric you'll need, it really depends on the design. We'd recommend having a chat with your designer or tailor before you order, just to be on the safe side.

What is Godna art?
Godna art originates from the tattoo traditions of Bihar's tribal women. What was once body tattoo art is now painted on paper and fabric. Fine dots and lines create geometric patterns that carry protective and cultural meaning.
Who are the artists behind Godna art?
Artists use fine-tipped pens or brushes to create dense patterns of dots, lines, and geometric shapes. The designs mirror traditional body tattoo patterns of Bihar's tribal communities. Natural colors are preferred.
Are natural colors used in Godna art?
Traditional Godna uses natural pigments and earth-based colors. Some modern interpretations use acrylic for durability. The product description mentions the medium used in each piece.
Can I frame this or display it directly?
Most Godna artworks are ready for framing. Some come on paper, some on fabric or wood. Frame under glass to protect from dust and moisture. Display away from direct sunlight.
How do I care for Godna art pieces?
Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture. Dust gently with a soft dry cloth. If framed under glass, it needs minimal care. Avoid touching painted surfaces with wet hands.
What does Tussar feel like?
Tussar has a smooth, cool-to-touch surface with a natural sheen. It drapes elegantly and feels light against the skin. The texture becomes softer with gentle use over time.
How do I wash Tussar products?
Dry clean is safest for Tussar. If hand washing, use cold water and a mild silk-specific detergent. Never wring. Roll in a towel to absorb moisture, then dry flat in shade.
Is Tussar suitable for summer or winter?
Tussar works across seasons. It feels cool in summer and retains warmth in winter. The natural temperature regulation of silk makes it comfortable year-round in Indian climates.
How durable is Tussar?
With proper care, Tussar products last for years. The fibre is naturally strong. Avoid rough handling, direct sun, and chemical detergents. Gentle care keeps it looking fresh long-term.
Why is Tussar priced higher than cotton?
Silk production is labour-intensive. from rearing silkworms to reeling the thread. Tussar involves additional regional techniques that add time and skill. The price reflects the material and the maker's effort.
