Tikuli Art of Bihar

Tikuli art was brought back to the modern mainstream by Chitracharya Padmashree Upendra Marathi, who painted on a glass-walled hardboard at a Japanese exhibition. Tikuli craftsmen also strive to rejuvenate form in the modern context by making different utility products with Tikuli Art on them.

Process of Tikuli Art

Tikuli artists use hardboards to create paintings. Cut the hardboard into various shapes such as circles, rectangles, triangles and squares. The artist then applies 45 layers of enamel to a cut piece of wood. Every time you apply paint, sand the wood with sandpaper and polish it.
